Because of small class size (max 14 per class) we are able to give our students the attention necessary for their growth and ability. We take children who are native and non-native German speakers.
We focus on enhancing and advancing every students learning regardless of their pre-requisites. We provide stimulation and growth for all students and believe, that they learn from the teacher and from each other. Creating a German speaking social environment plays a big role in their learning.
Our curriculum is designed to allow students to actively communicate in German by giving them a strong foundation in understanding German, building their vocabulary, speaking, reading and writing. German is the primary language of instruction.
Our classes meet international recognized standards and we prepare
- and administer for all levels of das "Deutsche Sprachdiplom" (DSD), introduced by the German "Kultusministerkonferenz". The DSD gives foreign students access to the University system in Germany by way of resident status (local tuition - at no fees).
- for the AP and SAT German Subject Test preparation for US College placement.
- we also offer AATG certification for assessment of student's language ability.
SRV German School offers assistance with a summer immersion language experience in Germany, customized to the individual student.
K1 (3-5 years)
In K1, children learn vocabulary through activities such as movement, singing, coloring, playing outside, and reading fun picture books. There is a high level of interaction with the children and they will be encouraged throughout the year with the help of "Fritz", the K1 hand puppet, to speak and reply in German with single word responses and short phrases.
